Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray HC-146 is a mid tone blue/green with a gray undertone. I love it in south or west facing spaces - especially in living rooms and bedroom. It's also beautiful on kitchen cabinets, front doors or shutters! Is it right for your home? Keep reading to find out.
First, let's talk about the name because it's misleading. Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray is actually more of blue/green with a gray undertone. It has just enough color to feel breezy and coastal but a dose of gray keeps it looking grown up. Since it leans towards the green, this shade is a great choice if you're looking for a soft blue that won't feel cold.
What does Wedgewodo Gray pair well with? I love it with mid to light wood flooring like pine, oak or maple (even walnut) and white marble or quartz counters. For metals try this shade of blue/green with brass, antique gold or cooper. Add a splash of color with accessories like vases, rugs, blankets or pillows in dark slate or pumpkin orange for warmth. TIP: Orange and blue are opposite each other on the color wheel and make a great pair. For woodwork and trim use a soft creamy white with a hint of gray like Benjamin Moore Steam or Swiss Coffee.
With an LRV (Light Reflective Value) of 49.59, Wedgewood Gray is a mid-tone so it won't feel washed out in large well lit spaces but won't overwhelm a small room either. The blue tones will be more noticeable in north facing rooms where the light tends to be cooler or rooms without of natural light.
Try Wedgewood Gray in the bedroom if you're looking for a coastal look that's equal parts airy and calm. Pair with crisp white sheets then layer with fabrics in linen, charcoal and cream.
I love this shade on kitchen cabinets. It has just enough color to stand out but doesn't feel too heavy. Use it on the island, on lower cabinets or all over! TIP: Wedgewood Gray pairs beautifully with brass hardware, fixtures or lights.
A pantry, kitchen or closet door is a great way to add a pop of color to a space. This charming door looks cheerful and bright in Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray.

Lighting makes a huge difference on how colors look in a space. Before making a commitment I always recommend you try a sample. Either visit your local paint shop and purchase a terster pot of paint or order a peel-and-stick sample of Benjamin Moore from Samplize. Their samples are made with two coats of real paint making them100% accurate, can be repositioned multiple times so you can see the color under various lighting, and won't damage your existing walls or cabinets.
